Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of creating multiple VPN tunnels to windows 2000 machines using the 3 DES feature available under the local security policy. During one such configuration, I'm not able to receive any packets from one of the remote end server. The Tunnel is getting established. This is happening either if the initiation is from my end or from the remote end.
When I ping from my machine, Ipsecmon shows that packets are being sent. The remote Ipsecmon shows that packets are being received and also being sent. but my local ipsecmon shows received packets as 0.
I've gone through the ip filters but I guess the filters only play a role in setting up the tunnel. All the proper routing is in place but I still can't get this working. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks...

Two things come to mind . . . First, I would double check the route from the client to the VPN server. Second thought, is the client using the same network address for local LAN as you are assigning for the vpn client? Strike two . . . Third thing would be any firewall/personal security software installed on the client.

Failing that, try a ping from the client side. If the client cannot ping the VPN server, then try the VPN client to make sure something isn't gone wild there. Also try a tracert from both ends to make sure the routes are doing what you think you told them to.

Sorry, no definite answers, but maybe some help. If not . . .

What OS is the client running? Any router on the client side? What kind of connection on the client end? If you can't ping, what message do you get?
