VPN Tunnel Re-initialisation

hi guys..

i have a problem.. i have a frame relay circuit that fails once in a while.. this kills the VPN [IPSec + Racoon] between all my 3 sites...

when the frame relay link comes back up, i need to start Racoon at each site, manually.

is there a script i can use to check connectivity of the link after it has failed, and if available, automatically restart the Racoon process..?..

I use Nagios (

for monitoring systems. It (and others like it, typically) has the ability to respond to events. You could set it up to ping the opposite side of the network and, if it fails, restart Racoon. I've never seen Racoon, but if it needs to you could run this on both sides.
