VPN Transfers

We are running a pilot program and agents are Client PC VPN'd into Network. They are using Soft Phones to answer calls.

The sales reps are answering the inbound call then to warm transfer the call they are pushing the conf button on their softphone then dialing 91 to an external number. They speak to the 3rd party, press conf again to connect the 3rd party with the customer then they release the call.

Getting many denial events on the Transfer/Release part of the process. There is very little Loss Packets, sometimes some jitter (not in 20's or higher).

Is there anything I can do?

Thank you

My best guess: Your "UDP" packets are not being routed over the VPN connection, which will result in no audio, and a denial of service error. Make sure the UDP port range specified in the "IP-Network-Region" is allowed to be routed over the VPN tunnel. Make sure their is an IP route both ways as well...

notice on the trace the UDP port # keeps changing, and they are not getting any audio, so it keeps cycling until it fails.

Thanks for the reply's Mitch.

I have all ports open. I am allowing all VPN traffic to my .2 network which is the Avaya Network.

Thank you
