vpn to NT thru linksys router

I have a linksys two 4 port DSL/cable routers.
one at home and one at work.
at work I have a static ip with dsl
at home i don't have a static ip with cable.
how do i go about connecting from home to work.
The server at work is not in the DMZ
the pc at home is running win ME.
Do I have to forward ports to the server????
