Hi Folks,

At the moment, I have a VPN set up which allows users to dial in to a VPN server on our internal network and access files on network drives.

However, I now need to allow a user to connect to their PC on our internal network to run an application on that PC. Can I do this with our current setup or do I need to set up another VPN directly to that client PC?

I'm not sure of the best way to set this up. Do I set up a VPN directly to the client (can I even do this) and then user PC Anywhere (or some similar product) to run the desktop application on the client PC??

That VPN you already have should do it, as long as you VPN Clients can be routed on your own network. The client is on the internet and everything is encrypted up to that VPN server, after it gets to the gate and gets de-crypted, it's just like a normal network. That's why it's called a Virtual Private Network. Depending on your VPN Server, you might have rules or policies that might block you from getting to that PC on the network.

But everything should work.

Since I'm in the exact same situation as mighty & am exploring remote access I'm wondering where I might find rules and/or policies on the server (Win 2000) that would block this access?

Thank you
