hello all - i have been reading through many past posts, but can't seem to find one that answers my exact question. i will be setting up a vpn to connect two different office locations with the following setup:

office 1: 1 win2k server (domain controller), 4 win2k pro workstations on domain. these are connected to the isp through a fractional t1 line.

office 2: 5 win2k pro workstations on same domain as above, connected via asdl through different isp than above with cable/dsl router doing nat.

i am wondering if it is possible to set up a vpn by installing a linksys befvp41 instead of the current dsl router they have at office 2 and creating the vpn between the befvp41 and the win2k server at office 1. any help is *greatly* appreciated. thanks,

wallstrum

IU have the exact problem. Diffrent ISP and 2 office but lots of servers on both places.

Is there a way to set up a VPN with 2 office with diffrent ISP?

What hardware should I use?

3com 4005 in the big office today and nothing special at the other places.

/Nalle

Hi wallstrum,

Easiest way is to obtain 2 BEFVP41-routers and do a proper IPSec VPN between the office networks.

Different ISPs should make absolutely no difference what-so-ever, you are simply connecting to an IP address.

Cheers
