Hi Everyone,

I am trying to setup a vpn connection to a test server in our office. The connection is via a dialup internet connection.

I have enabled the following on the server:
- Stand alone server
- RRAS
- static IP Pool 192.168.1.101 - 110
- I have removed the L2TP ports and increased the number of PPTP ports to 10
- the remote access policy is set to grant access to all server users (this is the default I think)
- I have added the NAT IP routing interface.
- everything else remains the default value

I have created the connection on the client and it seems to connect to the server but it hangs at the verifying username and password stage, it then boots me off saying the remote computer is not responding (error 721). The client machine is windows 2000 pro connecting to the internet via an ISDN conection routed through a cisco 1604.

This part may seem dumb and I am not sure why I tried it (getting somewhat frustrated by the whole process) but I can connect to the VPN from the VPN server by creating a VPN connection to the internet IP address given to me by my ISP.

I would really love to know what is interfering with my client machine connections or perhaps their is a good refernce on the internet that can help me through this (most references I have found all deal with handing out IP addresses through DHCP and this is not possible in my case).

Thanks everyone
