I have two W2k Pro machines.
One of them is a VPN server for the other one that is the client.
They each have a static internet IP.
When the client connects to the VPN server it gets given an IP address.
I need the client to be given a never changing IP.
I also need the VPN server to have a never changing IP.

I notice that the VPN server sometimes gives itelf a different IP to that last time it was called upon by the client computer.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Ralph.

I think I have it solved.
I set the range of IP addresses on th VPN server to be from:
*.*.*.79 to *.*.*.80
That way whenever the client connects to the VPN server it gets given the address *.*.*.80 and the VPN server allways gives itself *.*.*.79

I tried connecting and disconnecting lots and allways got he same IP result which is good.

Have I solved it or could the IPs change in the future and bite me when I am not expecting it?

Thanks
Ralph.
