I'm having trouble setting the remote IP address of the IP phone to connect using a virtual address in the settings of the phone.
It works great if the router on the remote site is NOT the same as our subnet 192.168.1.0
Following tech tip 190 it says to set the virtual address to 172.16.22.x I have a IP route of 172.16.22.0/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.1/lan1
The phone stops at discovery.
My other option is change the remote routers so they are not 192.168.1.1.

Thanks

Hello CharterWarranty,

If you decide to input a remote virtual ip address, you MUST add an ip route into the configuration.
EG:
If my work network is 192.168.42.0/24, and my home phone is 192.168.8.80
Enter an ip route like this:
IP Address: 192.168.8.0
IP Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP address: (whatever your gateway is (192.168.8.254 or whatever)
Destination: LAN1 (or whatever LAN port you are sending the traffic out LAN1 or 2)
Metric: 1
Good Luck.
