VPN remote phone software load

Hey guys,

just wondering if im doing something wrong??? im trying to load vpnremote phone on a 4620SWIP set. ive done the following...

IP OFFICE 406v2 3.2.61

connected the 4620 to the IP OFFICE directly.

assigned extn 211 to the phone.

loaded software (h323_VPN_232_52_SMBS) in the manager directory.

brought the phone up, changed the group to 876, then rebooted the phone.

the phone started to load 46xxsettings.txt

i tried to run the VPN software on the phone, but the phone does nothing.

i looks like its still getting the regular files instead of th VPN files.

any help on how to load the file would be great.

The VPN remote will work with any version. I have them running on 3.2, 4.0 and 4.1. They will only work for 180 days on anything lower than 4.1. you have to edit your 46xx files to include the upgrade info. it is in the docs. i dont have it in front of me.

Edit the 46xxupgrade.scr file [To modify the 46xxupgrade.scr file, first rename the file extension to .txt then open with Notepad. It is possible to rename the file from 46xxupgrade.scr to 46xxupgrade.scr.txt or to 46xxupgrade.txt. Either option will be accepted. Once the necessary changes have been made, and saved, rename the file back to 46xxupgrade.scr]
If sharing a File Server (TFTP/HTTP) with Non-VPNRemote phones link 46xxvpn.scr
file with the existing 46xxupgrade.scr by adding following lines at the beginning of the
existing 46xxupgrade.scr.

IF $GROUP SEQ 876 GOTO DEFVPN
GOTO NOVPN

i have changed the file to a .txt file and opened with notepad.

it says to add the additional lines to the beginning, but i dont know where the beginning is... i have tried to put the 46xxupgrade file here so you could tell eme where to put it. it doesnt look like this when you open it with notepad.

i usually put it right at the top. hit enter a couple of times and it will move everything down then insert it. i think were you have it the phone wont read it. That area is blocked out.

have you done any installs with SIP yet? im having no luck with one im trying to set up now?? any suggestions?

how come the VPN remote will only work with a version 3.2 of an IP office for more than 180 days... any way around this other than upgrading. How hard is the upgrade process? What new features would i get.

I am not sure at the 180days it will stop working. Has anyone verified it stops working?
