I am trying to set up a VPN remote client to the main office. The tunnel will be using IP/Sec encryption. I am looking for advise to which piece of hardware would be most effective to use on the client side (which is running a DSL connection using PPPoE authentication). I've looked into DSL NIC cards and routers capable of IP/Sec passthrough and don't want to start blindly buying products according to the manufacturers specs and "promises". Any success stories or recommended hardware setups would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The problem is the PPPoE. You will not be able to establish the tunnel this way. You need to switch to cable modem or another DSL provider that does not use PPPoE.

Not sure what you are using at the main office for VPN connectivity. But in all cases the linksys VPN router works great. I have used it any may differect configurations and it has worked flawlessly
