We have a IPO 500, were looking to use a couple of 9620's at a couple of salesmens home offices. Can we use their internet connections for this or do we need a direct connection to our network at their homes. If we use the internet how does the 9620 know how to connect to our network, is there config to download on the 9620..?

You will need to enable the VPN option on the phone. Tlpeter has a great FAQ instructing you how to do that. Then you will need to configure the phone. There are installation manuals on avaya.com/support that will help you through that. You will need a supported VPN router at the IP Office site for the phone to connect to.

From the tone of your question, your best bet may be to use the telecommuter profile instead. It is much easier to implement.
