VPN Question

I can connect to our network through a VPN connection from another location. I cannot surf the internet while connection to VPN. Is there a way to connect to network via VPN and use the Network T1 line to surf internet & receive emails? We do have a firewall if some ports need to be open...If so, what ports would those be?

Usualy the admin needs to define it in the VPN server.
The default gateway has to be defined.

you may need to create split tunnel. these pages may help,
