Hi,

I have a major problem with a VPN I am trying to set up. We have a SBS2003 server and a hardware firewall and a router which connects to the internet.

If someone wants to connect to our network that works fine but that person can't ping or see any other computers. If the person tries to map a network drive he gets asked for username and password but the access gets denied. What am I doing wrong.

The person that connects to the VPN uses the Windows XP VPN functionality.

Do i need to grant access to the VPN in the firewall??

Where are you doing your VPN termination - router, firewall or server? If it's not the router, you'll need to enable 'VPN passthrough' to overcome the NAT problem.
All the best
James

on the XP client, go into the VPN connection property and make sure that 'show domain' is selected. It will then make them type in the domain as well when logging on. Also go under the AD Users and make sure they have the appropirate permissions.

Hi,

Are you using ISA on the SBS box ? How many NIC's ? Have you run the CIECW in Server Management ?

Regards Colin.
