I've tried to read through as many threads as possible to find my situation but my eyes have now become blurry and I'm starting a new thread. I'm a user no tech expertise here! The guy who set up my VPN is long gone:

I have a VPN set up from Home to Work. I am able to print at home from my laptop to my HP G85 on the home network. However I am unable to print from my desk machine to the same printer. I am seeing the same printer installed at work with two different names one is HP G85 Rob and one is HP G85 Steph. The HP G85 Steph works from my laptop and I am able to print fine. I was told when this was set up to use the other selection HP G85 Rob when printing from the desktop comp. When I had my photo printer set up it would go there instead of to the G85. Now that I don't have my photo printer set up I get an error and that's the end of it. I've even tried selecting the HP G85 Steph when working from the Desktop, it looks like it's going to go but nothing ever comes out of the printer.

I've looked at the basic properties and the HP G85 Rob & Steph appear to be set up the same way with one difference. Rob has an IP address in the Location field and Steph does not. I tried removing the IP in HP G85 Rob and I still get the error.

Any insight on how to print from both laptop and desktop would be awesome

Where is the desktop? Home or work? And where is the laptop? What kind of VPN (site-to-site or remote access)?
Usually, to print over a vpn, you should create a local print server---set a printer up as a tcp/ip printer, and all other computers, set up a network printer, and point it to the printer you set up on the server.
\\server\printer (share name).
