I've assigned static addresses with a 255.255.255.248 SM to 4 pc's and 1 printer, an HP Laserjet5. When I'm vpn'd to my corporate network, I can't print because the machines are granted virtual addresses during the vpn session, rendering the printer unusable. The clients are using platforms like Citrix, so it's not like they can save documents and print them after they're through with the vpn session. How do I get around this problem?

in what IP range are your local clients,
and what IP range are you providing IP addresses to the VPN clients ?
I believe this will turn out to be a routing issue, or just a DHCP issue ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work

the IP range locally is 66.47.45.2-6 /29, and users get a 10. address (/16) once they're vpn'd in.) We're trying to get hp jetadmin sent to the site and installed, we'll see if the printer can be found and set up.

is there a way you can extend your local network, and assign IP addresses in that LAN subent for your VPN clients ?

Otherwise you will need to
- set up a router (could be a WIndows server with 2 network cards) with a network card in the 10.x range, and a network card in your LAN range,
then define that router as default gateway for your VPN clients, (or add a static route for your VPN clients)
and then try.. you should be able to ping the 66. range ---------------------------------------------------------------------
