Has anyone done this and if so, do you know of any documentation to do it?

I don't think there is a doc from a to z, use the one from the CM and continue on page 40 from the IP Phone manual.

IPHello:

Follow the instructions in the PDF. However, the only change would be to insure that there is a VoIP extension programmed into the IPO as you would normally do.
A shortcut would be to first connect the 56xx or 46xx phone to the IPO first and get it working with an extension and password. Then install the VPN software on the phone per the PDF and your good to go. The hardest part is setting up the PIX.

please be aware had issue getting these working on PIX/ASA the issue was related to the version of the Unit, 7.2 and above worked everytime, below this software we had various issues.

if you open the right ports / fix ups or whatever they are called now

no fixup protocol h323 h225 1720
no fixup protocol h323 ras 1718-1719
nofixup protocol tftp 69

the iprouter in the system is fine and the phone is setup according the the manual they work grea

I have a couple of sites up and running using a pix 501.

To get the DHCP requests to work you also need to add these 2 lines to the pix

crypto map outside_map client configuration address initiate
crypto map outside_map client configuration address respond

I am close and any help with this would be great.

I have a PIX 501 and a 5610 vpn phone

I finally got the phone to connect but the display was messed up / no buttons working, name and extension flashing alternating...
but I could make calls, so close

then I reboot the phone and it fails to reconnect: IKE Phase1 fail no response

I did not let it download new configs ( I doublecheck the config and it is the same )

and the PIX seems to show an IKE tunnel still up but no IPSEC tunnel

any suggestions?

@vid151

Start a new thread, and post the firmware levels you're using.
