Hey There

I have connected a VPN 5610 through a Cisco 837 to a 500 running V6. The phone stands up but is unstable looses the VPN connection reboots etc.

Has anyone had better luck? I’m going to try it on a newer router with newer firmware but thought I would ask here first?

Thanks Mike

Have you tried the same VPN connection but using a client loaded onto a laptop, would help narrow the issue down :)

you need to ensure any inspectt maps are turned off for H323 and also your global time outs are set to 0:00 for connection and H323.

the packets being altered by the inspect maps are evil and cause havoc.

also, check the specs of the 837 in case it doesnt have enough horse power to maintain an IPsec tunnel? are you running any other vpns? IPSec makes a fairly hefty load on a cpu.

I tend to use the 877 series, as they have a more powerful processor and more memory.
