download 4.1.12 to your desktop
remove the admin cd through add/remove programs
remove manager folder in explorer
reboot the PC
install 4.1.12
all of the above is because you probably don't have the correct files for the VPN phone upgrade
upgrade the ip office to 4.1.12
make sure tftp address is set in manager system tab
locate the
\Desktop\ADMIN4_1_12\bin\VPN Phone
and extract that zipped folder to the
C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager
in manager extension tab set the extension to allow VPN remote
set the group on the phone
reboot the phone it should upgrade
then buy a netgear fvs 338 it's the cheapest. and follow tech tip 184
then run all over the globe plugging your phone into every high speed internet connection you can find and watch it work like a champ.
