VPN or RWW? 1

Some users VPN from their personal laptops/PCs to our domain. Just yesterday, we noticed a 11Gb spike in network usage. Malware on a workstation? No, we found out that a user was P2P file sharing while inadvertently connected to the VPN. My question is, with RWW on SBS, is a VPN connection needed at all? The security risk with a VPN seems high. RDCing to their workstation from within RWW sounds like a no brainer.

I agree with you. I try to dissuade business owners from expecting to use VPNs unless absolutely necessary, and tell them it's worth the security to just use RWW whenever possible.
