VPN on Windows XP Pro

Ok guys,
I think I need some help so bad.
Here's what I have, I have a XP pro as a vpn server, and I'm trying to setup it trough a linksys 4ports routers. I have no ideia what port to open. And I heard something about enabling a IP 47 ID, what I don't know what it is, and I don't know where to find.
Also I don't know what port to open for the clients on the oder end of the VPN, I have the linksys router on both places.

Can someone be kind to help me with that.

You need to have either PPTP or IPSec passthru enabled for one. And you will need to forward port 1723 to your VPN server. IP protocol 47 is GRE, Generic Routing Encapsulation.
