I have a DSL connection.
My Firebox III/700 is behind my DSL router.
The router is a Cayman 3546 WAN: ADSL LAN: 4-port Switch provided by SBC Ameritech.

Do i need to setup ports on the router so i can route VPN connections to the Firebox?
I've read the VPN guide for my Watchguard Firebox III/700 and had enabled DVCP server, remote user, etc on it.

I've tried to configure a VPC connection from my Windows Vista laptop from home to connect to the office network but no luck.

I know the external ip of the DSL router but i'm not sure if that's the same ip I need to use on my VPN profile in windows vista. our office network only uses that one external ip.

Does the router support VPN pass-through?

Why don't you set the router to bridge mode and let the Firebox control your connection?

Is the Firebox appropriately licensed?

Thanks Jason, we decided to upgrade and replaced the old firewall with a x550e UTM.
my goal is to get MUVPN to work in this new firewall (x550e)
and i'm having no luck yet:
Here's what I've done so far:
I've configured the DSL Router as a Bridge..followed the instruction described at
In my x550E, I went to policy Manager...unchecked drop-in mode and configured the external interface to use PPOE (specified the same ppoe username and passwd from my DSL ISP)..and manually specified an IP address (i'm not sure what IP i need to specify).
i saved changes on both DSL and watchguard...rebooted both. no luck. in watchguard sys manager eth0 is showing ip 0.0.0.0 ..

DSL external ip from ISP: 70.xx.xx.94
DSL internal IP: 192.168.1.10
Watchguard x550e IP: 192.168.1.101

what type of ip address should I specify on the PPOE field in Policy Manager?
What am i doing wrong?
