This is a LAN w/ 3 computers; 2 XP Home SP2 and 1 XP Pro SP1
The XP Pro has a SecuRemote VPN connection which worked fine on a DLink DI-624 (but the router gave a "network cable unplugged" bubble off & on, so I replaced it).
Installed a new Linksys WRT54GS and the VPN connection failed. I called the guys where I am trying to connect to, and they said that the connection always fails with Linksys routers...they did not give a reason why.
So, I replaced it with a Netgear WGT634U. Same results...connection fails.
I removed and reinstalled the SecuRemote VPN-1. Same results...connection fails.
Netgear tech support had me add port 500 and ports 1000 - 6000 into the WAN setup for port forwarding. No difference.
If I connect the computer directly to the RCA cable modem, I can get through just fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Becky
