Ok... so I have read just about every step by step tutorial that I can find. At my office, I have a D-Link DI-624 RevC with PPTP Enabled. The settings on the DI-624 are as follows... Name: PPTP, Private IP: 192.168.0.101, Protocol Type: TCP, Private Port: 1723, Public Port: 1723, Schedule: Always, DMZ: Disabled... DI-624 Firewall Rules are as follows... Allow PPTP WAN,* LAN,192.168.0.101 TCP,1723 - Allow PPTP_GRE WAN,* LAN,192.168.0.101 GRE,

Ok... My server is running Windows XP Professional and has the static IP of 192.168.0.1. I have also run the wizard to allow incoming connections.

At home I have AT&T DSL running through a Netgear WGR614v5. I have setup a VPN connection via the WAN IP address of the DI-624 at the office. When I try to connect, it tells me that there wasn't any response from the host.

Does anyone have a clue what I am doing wrong?? Thank you in advance!!

do you realize that the ip address at your office is a private ip. You need a public ip address for vpn and that can be purchase thru your ISP. Hence the reason you can't connect to your office.

Correct me if I am wrong... because like I said, I am a newbie... but am I not trying to connect to a public IP? (Quoting my original post) "I have setup a VPN connection via the WAN IP address of the DI-624 at the office."

In case that statement is not correct, I will word it a different way... My Home Computer is trying to connect to the IP address given to me by my ISP... not 192.168.0.1 address of my LAN.

My apologies if my statement was wrong... Thanks!
