Hey all,

Bit of a newbie with VPN. Our firewall here has does VPN and we use it to connect some other sites.

Soon we will use it for people to dial in. If they dial up to an ISP then use the VPN software to connect to our network (for email)- then they went onto the net, would they use our internet connection.... or would it realise that it had connectivity already and use that only that link (and not use the VPN).

Is this configurable or defaulted to anything? How would you set it??

Sorry for being a Newbie on Dup VPN.

Dan

No D, just plank - and its not my fault

It depends how you set it up.

You can config your VPN connection to use either:
Properties-Networking-IP-Advanced- "Use Default Gateway On Remote NW" Tick for yae or nae!

If you're using FW VPN software instead of standard WinXP then this may be hidden somewhere in the software.

Cheers,
Iain
