Ok before i screw something up i figured i would see if anyone has a step by step tutorial somewhere that explains how to set this up. Here at work 4 people need to access our server from home via internet. Let me break down our network now:

Server:
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
File Server(upgrading to Domain Controller tomorrow)
Internet Access Via T1 connected through a Cisco 1720 Router
ICS is Enabled

LAN:
Windows XP Pro
Internet Connected Via ICS from Server

Home Computers:
Windows XP Pro
Internet Via Cable Modems

What we need to do is set up the server as a VPN server ( i guess, not sure) and then set-up clients from home. We also need to still share the internet connection of the server on the LAN at work. Does anyone have any help on this?

Any HElp would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

Yes ICS is working now but havent set up the VPN as of yet... i dabbled with it a little and in doing so took the internet away from everyone. I then set things up back the way they were initially.

OK, to enable the VPN to work you have to configure RRAS which will not play nice with ICS. ICS sucks anyways, so you can use RRAS for your Internet connection.
You will need to set up DHCP or give you clients static IP's with the server as the gateway. Set up RRAS manually, and also set up NAT. Add a static route with destination 0.0.0.0 and mask 0.0.0.0 from your Internal NIC to route to your External NIC. See if the clients can get out. If they can we'll tackle VPN from there...

Thanks,

OK matt lets tackle it lol.... Sorry took so long BUt Server is now running DHCP, DNS, and NAT. Nat was set up through RRAS using the wizard.... so now onto VPN... i appreciate all the help :)
