Hi this may be in the wrong area. I currently use SNMPc and was wondering if it is at all possible to montor when a tunnel goes down and to be flagged when it does.

we currently have ADSL sites that are connected via IP stream over two load balanced tunnels (from each site) back to our main network.

any help may be greatly appreciated

It's been a long time since I used SNMPc, but doesn't it monitor devices via IP (ping and SNMP)? Have it monitor a device on the other end.

You might be able to get information locally when a tunnel interface goes down, but that would depend on your VPN equipment. Another way might be to ping the tunnel interface of the local VPN device. With Cisco, a "down" interface becomes unresponsive.
