ok here is the situation.
We have a User domain that contols all of the agencies for the state. We control our own resource domain for our agency.
We just moved the resource domain from NT4 to 2000 SP4 AD.
After moving all of our machines to the new domain we started having Logon script problems.
The problems only occure on XP machines and only if the machine connected to the network via VPN.
If the PC running XP Pro (regular, Sp1 or SP2 we have tried them all)connects though VPN to the domain the logon script takes 40 min to run. If it connects to the network from inside the office it takes 30 sec to run the script.
If a PC running w2k pro sp4 connects to the domain though VPN the script takes 30 sec to complete.
I unfortunatly do have access to the VPN settings because it is run from the State domain office.
Any Ideas what would affect only XP machines.
When we were still an NT4 domain we had no problems with the Logon Script.
Our original script was written in Kixtart language.
I thought maybe the problem was with the script so i rewrote it in VBS. That did NOT fix the issue.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Our head office is not willing to help us at this time since they (for what ever ungody reason) don't support XP yet.
The part of the script that seems to me to be hanging up is when the shares are connecting.
The rest of the script seems ok, i think.
