I've got two DLink DI-804HV routers set up with a VPN. One side has an Active directory controlled by windows 2003 server that is also the dhcp server (so it disabled on the router). The other side has a NO active directory on it, a 2000 server, some xp home and a single xp pro machines on it.
From either side I can ping addresses on the other side of the tunnel. From the non-Active Directory side I can map drives with IP address to computers on the other side of the tunnel. However from the side with the active directory, I cannot map drives to the xp home or pro computers. I can however map drives to the 2000 server on the other side.
Is active directory on one side but not the other causing my problems? The routers have L2TP capability on them, but I don't know anything about L2TP so I haven't enabled it. Is this something that might fix my problem?
