Hey,
General question:
if I have a VPn connection between two offices,
on one side I have a big secured network,
on the other end I am only opening communication in the router for the VPN server on the other side - without any FW, is this secured enough?
can hackers hget through my router this way?

TANX

This is the preferred method of making secure network.

If you use VPN-boxes you are able to to limit the users only to use the resources provided by the main office via tunnel, e.g. DNS, WINS, PDC, web-proxy and mail services.

Using IPSec, 3DES and combined firewall/VPN-boxes like Linksys or SonicWALL makes your network as secure as it can be.

Sleep in peace.

Hi,
but if it's all in the router, with no external VPN box,
is it still secure?

To be exact:
combined router/firewall/VPN-boxes

Yes, they are safe.
