I am trying to connect to a customers VPN server.

I am using a Windows 2000 workstation connected to a NT4 server. I'm trying to get to the VPN from the workstation through my ISP. My connection to the Internet is done through a Cisco 1605 router connected to a USR 56K modem. Each time I try to connect I get "ERROR 619: The specified port is not connected", this pops up just after the verifying username and password box. Having never used or setup a VPN connection I’m totally in the dark as to what I need to do, and what all I need installed or configured on the workstation/server/router. Please help me..........
