I am trying to get the microsoft vpn client working across the internet. I have now configured a server on a XP Pro machine. I can connect a vpn from within the network. I have a Linksys router that forwards port 1723 to the server on that network. When I try to connect from a remote network I get a screen saying "Verifying User Name And Password" And thats it. It hangs there. I know that it is getting to the server. I have shut down the server and tried and get a "connecting" screen. What could be the problem? All help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your reply. I changed the port on the server to a higher port and all is well. I guess the isp for the building was blocking something. I can now Remote Desktop into the server. Thanks again, jeff

I have a similar situation with one remote user. The VPN just hangs at "connecting" Can you share exactly what you did to resolve your problem?
