Hello,
I have a pretty tricky setup, which is nevertheless pretty simple and should work in theory:

I have 2 laptops connected to my speedstream router and additionally a pda which features vpn.

to have no problem with my dynamic external ip, since i have no static ip, i joined a service like dyndns.com which is basically the same thing like no-ip.com ....the hostname which I got i typed in in both the pda and the "client vpn laptop". the "server vpn laptop" has an advanced connection setted up, according to various tutorials on how to setup a vpn server. trying to connect to the vpn

my speedstream router offers a possibility to enable pptp
so i blieve incorrect port forwarding shouldnt be an issue...also i disabled both firewalls on server and client vpn laptop...same error 678 still

here comes my questions

if i visit a website like whatsmyip, with both laptops they determine the same external ip address...so how would it be possible to keep them apart? i.e. to know which is the server laptop which files should be accessed?

is the problem that server and client of the vpn use the same router?

please help me and ask me specific questions about my setup, if there is something important i did not mention.

i am really desperate and appreciate it very much if anybody knowledgable can help me.

thank you
