Take a look at OpenVPN. My experience with it has been pretty good. You will need to designate one machine as the client and one as the server. The server, of course, can accept multiple connections, but nothing says that it won't work with just one.
It is easy to install and setup. There is a little bit of a learning curve on the configuration, but most of it is pretty self explanatory.
