I'm new to VPN's but i hope someone can help me. The situation that i have is i have a network at home that works fine and i have a network at work that works fine but i wan to be able to access my home network from work and the other way as well. I was told that i can use a VPN and and software such as VNC or pcanywhere to connect to the other computers in order to access the files. On both ends i have Linksys-port routers. Where do i start?

For VPN you need to open ports 1723 and enable IPSec Passthrough on Linksys routers.

For pcAnywhere all I think you need to do is open TCP port 5631 and UDP port 5632. I have never used pcAnywhere, but I know you can change which ports it uses. Search the Symantec website for more info.
