VPN error 721. HELP!!!!

I have an xp home computer which is connected to the internet through a sitecom dc-202 router and a broadband modem. The computer has a static ip and is set up using xp as a VPN host. The router has port forwarding to the computer for PPTP, and I have set up an account with dyndns.org for dynamic dns.

When I try and connect to the VPN host from a client machine, it seems to connect, but then hangs on the 'Verifying username and password screen' and then goes to report 'Error 721: The remote computer did not respond'.

So it appears that the client is getting throught the dynamic dns, the port forwarding on the router, and reaching the host, but then it gets stuck.

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

what about when you connect with IP address. Same thing?

sounds like GRE issue. Make sure you open the IP protocol 47 or enable PPTP pass-through.
