We're using PPTP VPN on Windows Server 2003 at my office. I'm using Windows XP Pro / SP3 at my home. Connections have been fine for a while. However, if the network drops (e.g., a wire unplugged), VPN connections is lost. Further attempts to reconnect VPN gets stalled at "verifying username and password". Eventually it will time-out with error 721 "The remote computer did not respond". If this happens, it happens to ALL computers at my home. Resetting my routers (D-Link) or cable modems (Time Warner) won't resolve the problem. Sometimes I can get the VPN connections back after waiting a day or two.

From the VPN log at the server says something like GRE port has been blocked at my end; however, it was working before and resetting my router won't work.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
