Hi everyone -
I've got a VPN problem that's driving me a bit up the wall. We've got a few users who connect to our server through VPN from a home ADSL connection, and they work fine. I believe that they use an ADSL modem and the Windows firewall.
Then we've got one guy who has a router connecting his PC to the ADSL line. He's struggling to connect. He also uses a Norton firewall so has disabled the router firewall while trying to use the VPN. He can connect Ok, and can ping the server Ok if he refers to it by its IP address, but if he tries to ping it using its hostname he gets the "Ping request could not find host.." error.
If he tries to access his user share, referring to it using the server IP address (eg. "Pushd \\172.16.1.32\User") then he gets the error "You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. Go to System in Control Panel to change the computer name and try again".
I just don't know what this means or what I should be looking at. Can anyone here point me in the right direction?
Any help really will be much appreciated.
Cheers!
