VPN Disconnect Notification?

Hi all,
I use a VPN connection on my home computer running WinXP Pro(and when I am connected to this VPN I have the Local Area Connection icon in my taskbar lit up). Sometimes the VPN will disconnect without my knowledge. Is there any program/application out there that will notify me via pop up or sound when the VPN disconnects? Thanks.

I know of no such program. However, a very simple vbscript can monitor the VPN Client process and prompt you when it has ended. Use PSlist.exe to get a list of processes. Compare that against your VPN Client process name (found it in Task Manager) to see if it's running.

I have noticed similar issues with some client/server programs. They terminate yet the systray icon remains.
