VPN Disconnect Notification?

Hi all,
I use a VPN connection on my computer (and when I am connected to this VPN I have the Local Area Connection icon in my taskbar lit up). Sometimes the VPN will disconnect without my knowledge. Is there any program/application out there that will notify me via pop up or sound when the VPN disconnects? Thanks.
