VPN connects ok..But not remote desktop

I have 4 users trying to connect to my terminal server.

First they connect to the VPN and then thru remote desktop client they connnect to the terminal server.
(3 of them are successfull.)

The 4th user is able to connect to the VPN but not to the terminal server.

They have their XP firewall turned off. They have the proper ports forwarded.

The terminal server IP is 10.x.x.x and the 4th user internal network is 10.24.x.x..Does that create a problem...any more ideas what might be the reason for them not to get in?

what are the subnet masks of the two networks, yours and the 4th user?

This same thing affected one of our VPN users, where their internal network matched our internal network and caused them to only be able to access certain hosts.

We have the same subnet masks...255.x.x.x

then yeah, that will cause problems, since her system gets confused as her original connection has a default gateway that is "on the same network" as the systems in the VPN connection.

any ideas to get around or other ways to connect.

Our end and the 4th user end are pretty big offices..changing subnet masks is a tough task..

part of the thing will VPN is that it assumes that the two parties connecting will be on seperate networks and share no common IP addresses.

This is a somewhat flaky issue, as sometimes they will work, but most times they will not.

Your best bet would be to change the IP orientation in one of the offices.
