My work is using Timestep Permit VPN software. I can connect and access everything just fine when I connect from the computer to ADSL modem.

When I install a DLINK 604 router I can connect, but unable to access anything. On the router I've set the IP address of my work computer to DMZ, and opened up PORT 500. Still can connect, but unable to access.

What can I do?

I can ping the VPN's assigned DNS1, DNS2, WINS1, and WINS2. Can not ping assigned Gateway IP or SA Tunnel End Point IP.

What next?

Are the VPN assigned DNS and WINS servers on the remote LAN? Is the assigned gateway on the remote LAN? The tunnel endpoint you speak of should be the router you are connecting to, correct? Just trying to get as clear a picture as possible...

Thanks,

Hi,

The VPN assigned DNS and WINS must be on the remote LAN as I can ping them only from the computer that has the VPN connection. Other computers on my home network can not get replies from those address.

Still dazed and confused.
