I have an issue with VPN. I have configured VPN, changed the user settings and installed the connection manager on the clients laptop, but they get stuck at the user name and password.

This tricky thing is that it works when we connect to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/remote. I am not sure what I am missing. I think that it might be a setting on the router, but I am not sure because the remote site works. Any advice would be helpful.

The /remote site uses ports 443 and 4125. The VPN uses a different port: TCP 1723. They are completely different technologies.

In addition, for VPN to work, your the client's broadband router (not at the server network, but at the originating network) needs to support GRE (VPN Passthrough).
