VPN connection to PIX515 through Earhlink

Can anyone help is there a way to get a VPN connection through WinPoET Version 2.1 Build 20001026 (WinPPPoverEthernet.exe) used by Earthlink the DSL/Version?

I am told this is a very common technique used by US DSL providers to provide a simulated dial-up connection. WindRiver is a huge company that specializes in providing software to major telco's and very large ISP's.

I have a colleague in the US who wants to connect to us and this seems to be causing issues. We have a VPN setup that seems to work OK using the 3.5 client but what would we need to change for the WinPoet software.

From what I have heard is that PPPoE corrupts Cirtificates. If you are using Dig Cirtificates it will not work.
