VPN connection on the same network

Hello

I have a linux box and a xp box working on the same network (private)
I want to connect from the linux box to the xp box with VPN so that Ill be able to use the resources available on the xp box.

What must be done?

what resource? you may have to use another encryption method

Separate subnets for each, as they cannot be on the same NW block. One side cannot be in the same range as the other, unless it is an MPLS VPN (VRF table).
