VPN connection Help!

Im new to this whole thing so if anyone can help me I highly appreciate it.

Id like to have a VPN connection for remote users to connect into our network. Im running multiple Windows Server '03 CPU's along with 2 - Windows Server '00 CPUs.
I would like for all employees to have the capabilites to do this from home so I would like to have at least 100 connections and of course not all of them will be on at the same time.
I have a citrix connection now for employees to hit our network from home but Im trying to move away from that so they can use their PC instead of a window inside a window.
I dont want to have to install the citrix client on their PCs at home all the time.
How can I go about doing this VPN connection? What is needed? What ports need to be opened/closed? etc. etc.

One of your existing Windows servers could certainly work as a VPN server. Depending upon the number of users you expect to be logged in at any given time, you may want to think about a dedicated server.

The required port forwarding is not much. You will need port TCP port 1723 forwarded to the server and GRE protocol passed (pptp passthrough).

I would point out that there are times that a Citrix or terminal server solution is required. If your remote users will be accessing a database application that requires large chunks of data to be passed to and from the client, you will likely have problems without some sort of terminal server. There are others that can be a problem, but MS Acess it a big offender.

OK, I got the connection to work... How do I get it so I can see work network drives along with work applications to use??

HI,
i have created a VPN Connection using Cisco and i have granted permission everywhere and done all the basics
but when i try to connect i get an error.
when i check the logs on the server i can see that it has got to the server recognised the user name and then dissapeard.
can anyone help
