Hi, I have been working on a VPN connection to a Small Business Server running Window 2000 OS on our private network. I am not sure what is actually the problem so here I am asking for help on this forum. Here is the configuration on the router and server.

Router: I am using a Linksys BEFSR81 router with a built-in firewall. The firmware has been updated recently (1 week ago). Ports 47, 500 and 1723 have been forwarded to our server IP and port triggering has also been configured likewise. I have enabled IPSec and PPTP pass through.

Server: I have a Small Business Server running Window 2000 OS. I am not using a 3rd party hardware to set up VPN, just the Remote Access Server (RAS). Configuration on the server is: server enable to be both a Router with option "Lan & demand-dial routing" checked and a Remote access server.

Additional Information: We have a DSL and is currently using 1 Public Static IP. I purchased additional static IP's recently if we are required to provide our server with a dedicated IP address but would like to see if we can establish a reliable VPN connection with just one Public Static IP. The server only have 1 network card and would like to know how to set up a VPN with just one nic card. I would like also any advice on the right configuration on the router and server. I also came across the 721 error numerous times and could not figure out the solution.

Users have been set up to allow dial-in (vpn) to the network if they provide correct userid/password when prompt to. On the client side, I am not sure what type of configuration am I required to set up.

I would appreciate any type of help to the above concern. Please advice.
