We are using a SonicWall 2040 standard. The VPN works fine except for a couple of computers. I have several computers at home and all of them work perfectly except for one. Two of the machines including the one that does not work are running XP Pro. Another one is running XP Home and others are running Server 2003 different versions.

All of them work except the one. You can open the client and right click and enable the connection but it stays at enabled and will not prompt for user and pass and just stays enabled but never connects.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jitter

Hi there

We use an sonicwall 3060 pro with enhanced OS, but think I've had exactly the same problem and it quite easy to solve!!! Basically you need to check the IP address of home network is different to your office network .

So If your Office Network is 192.168.1.x then set your home network to be 192.168.2.x

And you should find that this fixes your problem and explains why some client work and some dont

Let me know if this fixes your problem ?

Thanks for the reply. We tried that with no luck. I got my one machine working. I used msconfig and disabled all startup items. It worked after that. I then started to enable the items one by one and it kept working. I got lazy and just enabled them all again and it still worked. I did notice that there were two ctfmon in there and that after I disabled and enabled there was only one.

Unfortunately this did not help the other user having the same problem. So I don't know. Always something. Still looking for the cure.

thanks,

jitter
