Hi,

Can you install Nortel vpn client and Cisco vpn client on the same system?

In the past, I have experience of system blue screen on me with tcp stack error.

Anyhow, I have install 25 laptops with both vpn clients on it and I am seeing networking problem where I type in ipconfig, I get nothing back.

Can both vpn clients overwriting each other on the IPSec setting?

Thanks,

TL

are you getting any error message at all from dos ? Also are you trying to connect to 2 different vpn servers at the sime time ?

The company that I am working is moving away from Nortel VPN and by end of next month or so. The company will be using Cisco VPN.

I am deploying about 50 laptops to remote users with the current vpn which is Qwest using the Nortel client and the future inhouse solution using Cisco client.

I think there is some issue on the IPSec since they are using their version of IPSec on the client. I did confirm of that by testing the machines with both clients installed and without.

The solution for me now is to put the Cisco client on a folder and have the unit ship the user. Until then, I will walk them through on how to uninstall the Nortel client and install and configure the Cisco client.

Thanks,

TL

Take a look at the following link...may be useful. You can pre-configure an install package which will include the encrypted base username and password so that you do not have to tell the remote users the entry password. All they would then need is their individual username and password to login. You can also pre-define other settings as well.

Nortel & Cisco vpn clients do noy "play" well togther.
The Cisco is much more difficult to get working with other than Cisco equipment.
The Nortel can be a pain with other vendor's equipment, but it's doable.

I have setup both clients on a laptop, but it's not for the
non technical user.
The services for each client have to be manually started, but only 1 client can be running.

Yes - both of these client does not work well together.

Uninstalling it is also a Bi1ch..., but I found a way to remove both clients and reinstall just one.

Thanks
