My objective is to have a persistent VPN connection between 2 domain controllers utilizing cable modems at each end. Until I can figure out how to make each of them see the other as routers through RRAS, I've set up a win2k server as the vpn server - it has a static IP. The other DC is running NT4.0 SP5, and connects as a VPN client quite nicely, until 9:06AM every morning.
The event log on the VPN server indicates the reason for disconnect was user request. I can not find any entry on the vpn client for disconnect reason. The only program that's running on the client is Lotus Notes Server. I've examined it's setup and can find no reason why it would shut down the connection.
I've written an e-mail to my ISP, but I'm skeptical the problem is on their end (I'm also skeptical about getting a response).
Any input on what could be causing this?
Thank you.
